:Mbok Srini, an old widow from Java, longed for a child to accompany her in old age. In desperation, she sought the help of Buto Ijo, a giant known for granting wishes at a high cost. Buto Ijo agreed to help Mbok Srini on the condition that she would return her child, named Timun Mas, to him when she turned six to be consumed as a meal. Timun Mas was born from a magical cucumber given by Buto Ijo. As she grew, Mbok Srini noticed the giant constantly watching them, leading her to seek guidance from a powerful hermit in Gunung Kidul. Armed with four bags given by the hermit, Timun Mas faced Buto Ijo when he came to collect his promised meal. She cleverly used the bags to create obstacles, including cucumber plants, bamboo forests, salt waves, and a sea of hot lava, ultimately defeating the giant. Timun Mas successfully overcame the challenges, outsmarted Buto Ijo, and returned home safely to her mother, Mbok Srini, who was overjoyed by her son's victory over the formidable giant. penulis:farid
